📖 “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” — Hebrews 7:25
Introduction
Have you ever wondered what Jesus is doing right now? After His resurrection and ascension, He didn’t just sit back and watch history unfold. Instead, He took on a crucial role—our heavenly advocate and intercessor before the Father. The redemptive work of Christ didn’t stop at the cross; it continues even now as He intercedes for us daily.
1. Christ as Our Eternal High Priest
In the Old Testament, the high priest would enter the Holy of Holies to offer sacrifices for the people’s sins. But these sacrifices were temporary, requiring repetition year after year. However, Christ, through His once-for-all sacrifice, became the perfect mediator between God and man (Hebrews 9:24-26).
> "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." — 1 Timothy 2:5
Unlike earthly priests who were limited by mortality, Jesus lives forever, making His intercession eternal and unbreakable.
2. The Unfailing Advocate for Believers
When we stumble and fall, Satan accuses us before God (Revelation 12:10). But Christ stands as our advocate, declaring that His blood has already paid the price (1 John 2:1-2). Imagine a courtroom where Satan prosecutes, but Jesus, our divine lawyer, defends us with nail-scarred hands—that’s the reality of His intercession!
3. Strength for the Weary
Life’s battles can be overwhelming, but Christ’s prayers sustain us in moments of weakness. Before Peter’s denial, Jesus told him:
> "But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail." — Luke 22:32
If Jesus interceded for Peter despite his failures, how much more is He praying for us today? His intercession gives us strength, grace, and restoration when we falter.
Conclusion
The power of Christ’s intercession is our greatest assurance. We are not alone in our struggles—Jesus Himself prays for us before the Father! What an incredible comfort to know that the same Savior who died for us now lives to speak on our behalf.
🔹 Are you feeling weak? Tempted? Unworthy? Take heart! Christ prays for you daily—your redemption is secure in Him!
